Youth Justice
Ashley School is located within the Ashley Youth Detention Centre
and as such works within the confines of the Youth Justice Act 1997.
All programs for students at Ashley are in accordance with this act
and specifically linked to the five key principles of Restorative
Justice which briefly are:
• Reparation
• Responsibility
• Rehabilitation
• Diversion
• Deterrence

The staff at Ashley School (Department of Education) work
closely with the AYDC (DHHS) through case management to
develop appropriate programs for each individual and link these
with key DoE and DHHS policies and frameworks. |
